Motorola Barrage Cell Phone Review–Takes A BeatingBy Steve Anderson - 02/16/2010 12:01:08 AM |
The first thing that I noticed when I laid hands on a Motorola Barrage was that it seemed a lot more substantial than your ordinary line of phones. That it felt almost, well, REINFORCED. As it turns out, my first thought was actually quite right. But does the added robustness make this a better phone? Read on.
The Motorola Barrage is a flip phone with conference call capability, voice recorder, Bluetooth connectivity, E911 compatibility, a phone book with sufficient capacity for a thousand name and number entries, mobile email, internet browser, VCAST and VZ navigator, playback in a variety of video and audio files, a two megapixel digital camera with 8x digital zoom, alarm clock, calendar, calculator, stopwatch, and a battery capable of generating three hundred eighty three minutes of talk time on one battery.
Now, remember how I said this felt as if it were reinforced? Turns out, it is. It’s dustproof, shockproof AND waterproof. Some report dunking it in as much as foot-deep water without incident. If you need a phone that can take a licking and keep on…dialing…then the Motorola Barrage is just what you need. But if you need a huge array of tools, then you’ll want to look elsewhere.
The Good
Incredibly durable phone
Simple to use
The Bad
Not a whole lot of tools
Score 9 / 10
