More Details on Windows Mobile 6

|

More came to light on the much anticipated Windows Mobile 6 today. Code-named Crossbow, the Microsoft's operating system will allow users many more features than what is out now. Among the enhancements are editing in Word and Excel and being able to follow HTML links directly from the phone. Microsoft also promises that the the 6th edition of Windows Mobile will be more secure than its predecessors.

Voice over Internet Protocol is another interesting development. The new system is designed to support the system if the carrier wants to use the technology. Jennifer Simpson of Yankee Group stated, "There's an interesting and ongoing development when it comes to VoIP and cell phones," she said. "There aren't a lot of dual-mode phones out right not, but there are some small niche products out, and major players like Microsoft are making room for partnerships in the future."
