More details on the BlackBerry Kickstart
Much more has been revealed about the only ever slider from BlackBerry for now, the Kickstart. BGR has gone ahead and let out some more information on the Kickstart. For starters, it confirms the camera to be 2 megapixels and that the keypad is SureType of the "next gen" variety. The flipper will work on quad-band 850/900/1800/1900Mhz GSM networks and run on BlackBerry OS 4.6. While the external screen displays at 160x128 pixels, the internal display is apparently of 240x320 pixel resolution. The external display is said to be monochrome with a soft glow around the bezel when active. Plus, there's WiFi and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
From the picture, you can clearly see where RIM got its inspiration for the Kickstart, gunning at a new segment of people, which it had previously ignored. What remains to be seen now is how well this new design is received when it is expected to be available on T-Mobile starting in September.
