More advanced e-reader screens coming to Kindle. Color, anyone?

500x_kindle2Amazon has recently bought a company known as Touchco, a company that makes cheap and multitouch displays. The Kindle will probably be changed as a result of this acquisition, and there could be something else on the horizon for the Kindle.

According to Digitimes, the company that supplies the Amazon with Kindle displays are working on touchscreen electrophoretic panels. This could mean color pressure sensitive touchscreen EPDs that will support animation this year, and it could mean that we could be seeing some color, and a number of interesting things to expand the Kindle’s uses. Who, look out, iPad!
