Microsoft's Surface 101: 'Coffee Table' Computer

Microsoft will put its coffee-table shaped "surface computer" on display at Wall Street Journal's "All Things Digital" conference on Wednesday. The Microsoft Surface computer, running off Window Vista, replaces the use of the mouse and keyboard using interaction through voice, pen, and touch.
Underneath the tabletop of the Microsoft Surface computer is a large 30" display. Not only can you can touch and move objects on screen, the Microsoft Surface 101 can interact with the devices placed in its surface. For example, users could place their cellular phone on the 'table' and gain access to the latest ringtones and even change billing/payment plans. Microsoft plans on introducing units to Sheraton hotels, Harrah's casinos, and T-Mobile stores sometime in November. Additionally, they hope to reduce prices significantly from $5,000 - $10,000/unit to consumer levels within the next three to five years.
