Microsoft COO Compares iPhone 4 to Windows VistaBy Jeff Baker - 07/14/2010 7:06:10 PM |

While Microsoft has run into some problems regarding their desktop operating systems in the past (Windows ME anyone?) they have long been regarded as one of the premiere operating system developers on the market. However, when Windows Vista was nearing its launch Microsoft touted it as one of the best operating systems on the market. However, after getting released, users were plagued with countless issues leading them to deem the operating system a failure.
Apple, on the other hand, has received some lash back regarding their product pricing but generally everything goes well when they launch a product. However, with the recent release of the iPhone 4 the company has received a considerable amount of lash back regarding the device’s reception. If you’re not familiar with the problem, users have been able to lose reception and even drop calls by holding the phone in their right hand. Crazy, I know.
Anyways, Microsoft’s COO Kevin Turner recently took center stage at the Worldwide Partner Conference in Washington, D.C. to give his views on the iPhone 4. Below is a quote from his speech:
“It looks like the iPhone 4 might be their [Apple's] Vista, and I’m okay with that.”
I’d have to say, the iPhone 4 reception issue can also be closely related to Microsoft’s Xbox 360 red ring of death issue. If Apple doesn’t issue a fix for this sooner rather than later, they may be losing a considerable amount of their loyal fanbase.
