Micro Hydrogen by Angstrom Power: The Future of Mobile Device Batteries?
If you've ever gotten cut off in the middle of an important phone call or if your batteries have ever died without you having the option to recharge anytime soon, Micro Hydrogen MIGHT be the answer to your problems. Angstrom Powers has been working with Motorola to develop a new and viable fuel cell technology. As more and more people rely on mobile gadgetry, mobile phone companies are compelled to find a way to answer consumer demands, one of which is longer battery life. The Micro Hydrogen, a concept by Angstrom Power, is a combination of many factors including a refillable hydrogen storage tank, fuel cell architecture and micro-fluidics. Angstrom has been testing the prototype on Motorola Slvr L7 phones. The technology can reportedly double the usual talk time and full recharge the battery within ten minutes. Question is, will this technology actually come to the consumer market and if so, will it be able to replace the widely-used lithium ion batteries? Hydrogen seems a bit risky, but we know there's more to the technology than what Angstrom and Motorola are letting out. Guess we'll just have to sit it out and wait.
