Marvell's 802.11n Chipset Makes 450Mbps WiFi Possible
Another addition to the slew of tech products we'll be seeing at the CES next week is Marvell's 802.11n Draft 2 chipset called TopDog 11n-450. TopDog makes the jump from the current 54Mbps rate of WiFi via a technique using three "spatial streams." One stream of data is divided into three streams which are transmitted by different antennae using a technique names as "multiple-input multiple-output." Coupled with multipath, the signal reflection phenomenon, the technique makes 450Mbps WiFi possible. TopDog will be showcased at the Marvell booth on CES.
