I can see this as a great option for those who need to constantly contact people abroad or those who have loved ones in other countries. Raketu offers free VoIP phone calls from your BlackBerry. There are designated “free zones” in 40 countries. For areas not covered by the zone, you can purchase affordable prepaid plans. The application is web-based and hence, all users need to do is sign-up and go to BlackBerry.raketu.com to use the service. The only caveat is that you can only use Raketu with BlackBerrys featuring WiFi such as the 8800 series, the BlackBerry Pearl and the BlackBerry Curve. There also also Raketu applications available for the iPod and the iPhone introduced last December.
