i got this phone 3 days ago. The only problem with the phone is you cant set a tone for your tex messages in your sounds. But can set a tex tone in your contacts. They are working on the issue now. But other then that i love the phone.
phone goddess i have this phone and i had the same issue you are having but you can set your own songs as a text message or any other message alert IF you go directly to the contact you want to set it for and set it from there. you have to do this for every contact and all those who are not in your contacts it will just work as it should. this was a pain in the butt but it was my only issue with this phone and so i really think its small potatoes considering all it does do. i love this phone. hope this works for you.
I just got mine a couple of days ago. I didn’t have any problems with setting the tones. I have never had a phone like this before with internet and all that jazz so its taking some getting used to though. Is it possible to upload photos and videos from this phone directly to sites like facebook. if so, how?
i was wondering about how to upload stuff to face book and i still havent figured it out yet…but i really like my tritan… its very entertaining and everyone around loves it…
Just got this phone today. Is this phone one of the ones to where you can’t put your own music as ringtones unless you actually buy it through alltel shop? I have a MicroSD card but I can’t set any of my stuff as ringtones or text alerts. This is only a minor problem, the phone is great, but if anyone could help that’d be great
Rodney, if you change the file extension of whatever MP3 you want to add FROM .mp3 TO .qcp it will load the sound into the Ringers menu on your phone.

hey whats up all.i just got my phone yesterday.this phone is nice.hey rodney i put my music on a sd card drag song to my audio file.than open your audios on your phone and click the little icon in the top right corner.than you need to copy the song to your phone.its real easy.i just plugged the card into my computer.no need to use the usb cord.i hope this works for yah.

Rob, yeah I did that too but it automatically sends all my music either to “music” or “audio” and it won’t allow me to use them as ringtones.

How do you put a ringtone that you download on it? Me & my hubby just got ours about 3 days ago for buy one get one free!! So we paid $249 but will get a $200 MailInRebate. I’ve been playing with it ever since but can’t get the ringtones I have on my micro sd to be on my phone. Hi all, I got a chance to see a demo LG Tritan and it’s a really cool phone. I heard from a U.S. Cellular rep. that it should be in the store sometime this week. I have the Samsung Delve and I can’t wait to return it so I can get the LG Tritan. I was told it has Yahoo Messaging and IM Messaging.

I’m getting this phone this week and I’m really excited.
The ringtone thing was a hassle with the phone I have now, and my friend finally told me to go to http://www.myxer.com. It’s free, and you can upload your songs directly onto that site and then it sends a text to your phone and you can download them as ringtones in your specific phone’s format. It’s kind of a hassle because you have to do it for every song you want, but hey, it’s better than having no ringtones. It should work for the new tritan, but like I said, I don’t have my phone yet so I haven’t tried it out. My old phone had the same problem as you guys have been talking about, so might as well give it a try…

Hi im probably going to get my phone tomarro could anyone tell me about how many hours the phone last because I text alot and sometimes talk on the phone. My phone i have now has ok battery i can usually use it for the whole day but it can’t last a night without chaging it over night and using it the next day.

this phone looks amazing, everything anybody could want in a cell phone, but i can’t get it because i’ve already been through 4 phones, so i have a while until an upgrade:[ it’s heartbreaking.
My friend was doing research because i want this phone, or else a blackberry and she said that you cant save pictures on the tritan you can only send them? can somebody please tell me that you can save them and set them as a backround, or send them to your email. because i dont believe a phone like this, CANT save pictures on the phone.

This is a pretty good phone as a whole. you guys really need to just play with it and learn it just like everything else. i have had my phone for about a week now and it holds its own against all of the other phones that i have had. I have three lines because I m a recording artist and I need a phone for business. but i m completely happy with my phone because it doesn’t complicate things too badly…take your time to learn your phone,,,you’ll love it…

Hi, i have the Blackberry curve and i was just wondering if the Tritan was better then the Blackeberry. With the Blackberry I can get free ringtones, wallpapers and themes, does the Tritan offer the same?
I like the touchscreen and the full keypad with the bigger buttons on the Tritan.

Hey I just got this phone yesterday and OMG I LOVE IT!!! Only thing is with the ringtones do I have to buy them from alltel or where can i get free ones.. I tried mixer.com but it wont let me save them.. & Yes u can save pictures on it.. u just might not have a lot of memory so get a memory card

This phone is simply a copy of the T-mobile G1. It’s a nice phone and all but all LG(life’s good) is trying to do is give you a fake T-mobile G1 It will NEVER COMPARE TO THE T-MOBILE G1 except for the qwerty keyboard and the touch screen And i bid you good day ;> ;> ;> ‘> ;> ;>
Okay, so i have had this phone for 3 weeks, and i love it.
the battery doesn’t last that long if you use the internet a lot, but if you don’t use the internet a lot. it should last you all day for making phone calls and texting.
The picture quality is great!

I just got the phone less than a week ago and I LOVE it! I am experiencing the same issues as some others though, you can not set a text ringer for incoming messages that are not already assigned. Mine works with the ringers and pix messages so it’s kind of annoying. I’m just one that likes to PERSONALIZE my phone!! Other than that it’s the BEST phone I’ve had by far! I hope they can figure out how to fix the text issue, everyother phone does it fine!

I got mine a few days back, but through US Cellular, not Altell. But for me, any music file on the sd card shows up under music, I just choose the move option in the music menu, select the files I want as rings, and move to phone. No problem at all. Don’t know about Altell though, sorry. I’m not having an issue with battery life either. I poured through my book trying all the features, gps navigation, internet brower, music, camera, video, you name it, and lasted all day. It wasn’t non-stop use, but a lot, and a lot of phone calls too.

to set your own music as a ringtone, you have to put the songs in the “audios” folder on your sd card not the “music folder” and for the texting ringtone you have to go into your contacts and set a ringtone for each contact then it will wrk.
you must not have a lg tritan putting the song in the audio part of sd card does not work you still cant set as ring tone
I plug my phone into the cord, I plug the cord into the wall, the battery bars go up and up… Never says charge complete, phone is dying!!!! No charge…NO!!!!
I love this phone there is just one thing that annoys the heck out of me. I cant set my sounds as a text message alert. But i found i pretty good message alert called Sporting Spork. Are they going to fix that problem or am i stuck with it?
had phone for 3 weeks. Battery life is poor, but the phone is excellent for what it is worth. Just started experiencing a problem with incoming texts. The phone indicated I had a message that expired and my inbox shows mail. “Every” time I attempt to open inbox the phone reboots….it does this over and over and over. Will be taking back to us cellular tomorrow to fix the issue. Other than this single problem, the phone is excellent!

for songs as your ringtones you just go to your music and theres a little box in the upper right hand corner with 4 lines on it, click move, then select the song you want to move to your phone, song will only work as a ringtone if there saved on your phone, not on your card.
I looooooooooove this phone, I’ve only had it a day and it’s great so far. Battery life is fine for me, because I just use my car charger whenever I’m in the car and I drive everywhere. Overall, the phone is definatly a keeper.
I do hate the ringtone situation, but the lady I know at Alltel said that since it’s so new, myxer.com will work for free downloads, but in a few weeks. Give it some time, then try it again. I used to have a palm treo, and loved myxer. <3 If you don’t want to wait, you don’t have to pay the $3.99 for alltels ringers, you can buy some on iTunes for $1.99 - it’s a bit cheaper.

Ive had my phone for about a month and ive been with alltel for 2years. I called today and asked about the ringtone problem and she said that all the new phones are being made with a block so u actually HAVE to buy ringtones from so f*cking stupid. I should have just kept my backberry……..hope this answers everyones questions
Since March of last year Alltel has initiated new software that eventually will be in every handset. This software will not allow any sort of custom ringtones. Too many customers were doing warranty claims from contracting virus’ among other things from sending, using, and recieving custom made ringtones. The LG Tritan through Alltel will not, and will never beable to use customized ringtones. Alltel has no intention of changing this and pretty much everyone will have to just get used to it especially since other companies will soon start this process as well.
US Cellular sells this phone also. ROCK ON!

I got the new LG Tritan and it the best phone i ever had and love what i love about is the batt life im on the road for days and i cant charce it everyday it can go for 3 days before it dies.

i was wondering how the touchscreen on the phone is. i had the samsung glyde for a while and it takes a while for it to open what im pressing on, i really want this phone alot but the time it takes for the phone to recognize and open a text is a big factor

no you cant check email attachments. i just got on the internet and switched my yahoo mail to classic mail with my mane pc then went to yahoo.com and checked mail on my phone then saved it as my hompage so when you hit the internet icon it atomacticly gos rite to your email. and internets fast so realy just as fast as checking it through the email icon on touchscreen
any idea why you can’t or if they are going to fix that? It makes no sense to me to have a full internet browser and then you can only open certain things in your email. To bad I like the phone a lot, but may take it back tell they fix this.

are the biggest complaints the ringtones?
when checking your email and you have an attachment you can’t open it? Isn’t that part of being able to use the internet. Is there another smartphone that is better like the Delve maybe?
So i’ve had my LGTritan a lil over a month now….I also have the ringtone issue..the rep at alltel told me LG phones weren’t allowing this anymore. UGH! the only other issue i had was the phone restarting itself when i’d go to text or get online….at first it only did it when i’d use the GPS…then it started when I’d constantly text. Took the phone back and they sent me a new one..so far the new one hasn’t done it..but it’s only been 2 days! I also didn’t like that you can do the backup things with your contacts with this phone..but oh well i’ll just have em do it at the store! Overall i do love this phone! it has come in handy several times! with the internet and all. I can’t use the ringers but my friends sure have enjoyed me d/ling and sending them to their phones!

you can save pictures on here and set them as you backround, thats basically all i do haha. and yeah you can also send the pictures to and from your email all you have to do is enter your email into the enter number and WALLA! but yeah this is an amazing phone i get a bunch of crud from my family cuz i use it so much. i highly reccomend it! (and yes it does have a horrible battery life< but thatsd what chargers are for!!!)

I, too, am having the whole ‘ringtone’ question. I got a micro sd card since it wouldn’t sync to my computer without one (even though it said it downloaded the software, but whatever) but anyways, i sent some music to my phone and it’s in the ‘audio’ folder but i can’t put it in the ringtone folder so I can’t use it as a ringtone.

Could someone please tell me how to put my music on my lg tritan as ringtones? I have tried several things and it don’t work.
Actually it is possible to lock a text message on the Tritain. It’s quite simple: Open the message you want to lock, hit the button in the upper right hand corner below the time, and select ‘Lock’. I got my Tritan thru US Cellular and LOVE it. Though the ‘not being able to set a text message tone with my personal ringtones’ is a bit annoying, I’m sure that glitch will be fixed soon enough. I debated on getting either a blackberry curve or the Tritan, I personally love my tritan more than my friend’s blackberry. It’s worth the money my dad spent on it!
Everybody, go to http://www.ventones.com and sign up, ones you sign up, you can create your own ringtone, then you send it to your phone after, you recieve a message with the ringtone you created then you can save by clicking on the little bullets on the right hand corner and all you do is save media then when you go to settings youll see the ringtone there!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did anybody else have the battery charger come “upside down”? In the book says to make sure that the “B” side is up and the picture shows up as the touch screen side, BUT the only way the normal wall charger will fit into the phone is with the “B” side down.
I just got this two days ago and so far, I love it BUT the ringtone thing is pissing me off. Everybody says to go to http://www.myxer.com but I can’t figure out how to actually save the ringtones from there. I can get to the page, I can play them but I can’t save them. Yes, you have to upgrade to a smartphone plan. Mine jumped $20. You have to upgrade, you have no choice if you get this phone. Oh, and they get you on that ringtone thing. You have to buy your ringtones. i haven’t tried that website yet, where someone said you can upload your songs to the site and then it sends them to your phone.

I had 50+ pictures on mine and no memory card. that is not a good idea, though. Buy the card in case of a problem.
Oh and the Pearl is like a mini-computer. I just didnt need those capabilities (like a removably hard-drive, if need be). I just wanted the cool phone.
okay guys, i’ve heard good and bad… mainly i just need to know if it has yahoo messenger. my fiance is currently deployed and that and email is our only form of communication. If it doesn’t have it, i’ll hafta look for something else.

I want and lg tir tan to but my contract is not up yet it ends at march or around that time so i’ve got a long ways go.
How do you transfer the videos on the Tritan to the SD card ?
i don’t have one but i am talking my mom to getting me one for my bday and so far i am getting one for my b-day i can’t wait and she said that she might get one to well if i get one i get another one free so she is geting the other one and i am going to buy her a cute case she dosen’t no that yet though haha i can’t wait i will probally die whenever it runs out of battery anyways i hope it wan’t be 500.00 dollars when i get mine anyways i het my from mail so hopfully i wan’t have to pay but like 40.00 with my own money
I have had this phone for about a month and here are just a few of the issues. It seems to lock up where you wont get your text messages or phone calls and that isnt a memory issue. The not being able to set a global ringtone is also a pain. When you get a new text message and you open it and before replying slide your finger across the screen to view the last text message your phone will restart. I am sure there are more that I am forgetting but thats what I have for now.
Ok i have the triton and i love it but i have just discovered that when you buy ringtones from toneroom that they dont go on your phone you have to set whatever ringtone you want for the all calls ringer and i bought 3 so i cant even here the other two anyone know where the songs go or how i can get them on there??? i know there are free places but it just seems like they are louder and better quality i dont mind paying for ringtones that sound good and i can use if anyone knows anything please let me know thanks Tara

just got this phone and i like it except for the fact that u can’t save images or files from the web. prolly gonna get an htc touch pro just because of this

My plan is not up yet either, but I wanted this phone so I bought it off of ebay and activated over the phone… works great and a good way to upgrade your phone before your contract is up…. another option is craigslist.
hello my sister and i have the LG Tritan and its a great phone, but if you want a phone that holds the batery charge this is the wrong phone for you. It holds about a day worth, but if you talk on the phone alot you will have to charge it at least onece in your conversation. So far the service is great but i only had it for a month and didnt travel alot. Anouther thing is that the screen scratches easy! Other then that i havent had no more problems with it.
Ive had this phone since it came out.. It is a really great phone and all.. but the only thing is, is tht you cant save pics nd stuff fromt he internet i need some help on tht.. if you knw how to do it.. holla at me. oh nd another problem is that when you go to your music.. your music and your ringtones are there.. is it possible to have them seperate??? i need answers.. plz help thx

OMG!!!! I cant wait till Christmas I am getting the LG TRITAN!!!! One of my friends have it and they say it is the best ever!! I cant wait at all. It is the hottest thing on the street! Well I have to go cause I have volleyball pracite.. O.. after my friend got it I ALWAYS hold it after school!! LOVE YA!!!!!!!!!!!!
ive had my tritan for 2months and its one of the best phones ive ever seen apart from the Motorola Droid from Verizon. i even considered upgrading my alltel account and gettin a verizon phone but i just cant let go of the tritan yet
I hate this phone! I would like to set ringers cant and its battery life is not good! i want my blackberry back! i so feel like I downgraded!
Omg I can not put this phone down !!!!!and my boyfriend cant either every time we go ona date he always ask me can i see ur phone it’s getting so annoying but i luv my lg tritan and him!!!!
