LG Korea IPTV myLGtv

Telco LG Dacom has joined the race of providing IPTV services in South Korea market making the company to be the third to offer such service after the fore runners, Hanarotelecom and KT with their respective Hana TV and Mega TV.

The product, branded myLGtv, will not be offered to subscribers as a stand-alone service but it will be bundled in with the its broadband internet and internet telephone services which would attract discounts for intending users choosing all the three services.

Meanwhile, IPTV operators are still banned from offering real-time broadcasting there is indication that this ban will be lifted by next year. As it stands, Teleco is number the third largest company offering IPTV with some 1.6 million subscribers trailing behind KT’s 6.5 million and Hanarotelecom’s 3.7 million.
