It seems that LG has jumped the gun and shown off the LGBliss and Keybo2 prior to their August 7th debut.
The LG Bliss will feature a 3-inch touchscreen, 2MP camera with video recording, 4 1/2 hours of talk time and a CAD$79.95 price point with 3-year contract on Bell.
The Keybo2, ont he other hand, will feature a 1.56-inch external display, 2.6-inch internal display, a 3MP camera with video recording, Bluetooth, 5 1/3 hours of talk time and a CAD$129.99 price point on a 3-year contract with Bell.
Sure, these phone aren’t exactly feature extensive but these are sure to make some teenagers day.

I bought this phone the day it came out to replace my HTC Touch.
So far I like the phone but have been disappointed by a couple of things.
The phone has a nice browser that comes included however it is still no where as good as the Opera Mini browser. I installed Opera Mini on this phone and have a problem where the Browser it self works, but My keyboard doesn’t show up on the touch screen which prevents me from being allowed to enter in URLS and actually visit any sites other then the default bookmarks. So Opera Mini at this time is competly useless on the phone.
The second problem I have is Bell wants to charge me $8 per month to access Hotmail and Gmail through the provided e-mail application. This use to cost me nothing to access using my software on the HTC touch and also I was able to install G-Mail and use it freely. Bell store rep hid this fact from me and I can’t even return my phone now since i’ve exceeded the 30 minutes of talk time. So now I have to pay $8 a month to access my e-mails from hotmail and g-mail accounts.
This phone also doesn’t let you install, Goolgle maps, G-Mail App or any other google applications. The GPS software that’s included with the phone costs $10 per month to use. Bell also have blocked the right to install 3rd party software on this phone as well. I have tried installing free GPS apps that work with these LG phones, however some sort of BELL firewall blocks your abilty to even downloads these free GPS applications. So be prepared to actually pay to use GPS on your phone as Bell has decided to kill competition with this firewall.
THe pros of this phone are a great layout, quick load up times, fast application launches and the phone doesn’t crash or slow down. The touch screen keyboard i find to be even better then the iphone. This could have been a really good Bell product if they hadn’t put so many application restrictions and dumb charges on this phone.
Let me know about your experainces with the phone,
Take Care,
Jack,
Thanks a lot for your review, it was so helpful, I have experienced all the issues you mentioned once on my Samsung Instinct with Bell! almost got trapped for second time! your notes saved me!!
This phone sucks. The LG Bliss been a nightmare owning it! Bell Sales reps lie and pump the phone up when it really does suck. Bell Rips customers off. You have to spend $8 for e-mail and $10 extra for mobile browser. $18 in hidden charges for my LG Bliss. Why not spend $7 more per month and get a GSM Based Black Berry from Rogers….a real smart phone. Bell customer service told me since I talked 30 minutes on my phone I can’t return it either. ALERT TO CONSUMERS BELL LG BLISS IS A RIP OFF!…

Thanks a lot for your comments, Jack. Very helpful.
Well, I was also tempted to buy this phone as a replacement to my HTC Touch from Bell. I heard it is compatible with the unlimited mobile browser feature which was only compatible with the HTC Touch, is it true?
However, the inability to install some apps really is the killer for me. I want to be able to install my own stuff like IGuidance, TouchPal keyboard, Opera Mini and the like.. So are you saying that these might not work with it?
I’m a little torn because the phone seems great but the inability to add my favorite phone apps from my HTC Touch is actually stopping me from buying it.
And the $8 for checking hotmail and gmail… hmmmm.. we could do that before for free with the unlimited browser right??? So now, we will have to pay that extra $8 for that? WHY???
Again, any input on this phone would help. I’m trying to figure out if it will be a great replacement for my HTC Touch.
Thanks a lot!
Yes it is true, the E-mail application on this LG BLISS charges $8/month to use. Hotmail is actually free on the HTC Touch right on the main screen and you can install the gmail application for free on the HTC. For this phone the GMAIL application download doesn’t exist, instead the only gmail application is already on the phone and it charges you $8/month to use it. It is free to use gmail over the browser, however it comes up pretty crappy on this screen and browser which renders is almost painfully useless.
Opera mini does install, but can’t be used I can confirm that as well. This phone also comes with no data cable, so you have to buy every ringtone from bell. The way its set up even if you buy a data cable you can only drag and drop mp3’s onto the phone, not ringtones, you have to buy the ringtones from Bell.
I have just recently got the touch for US Cellular and I can’t really complain. I have their internet plan which covers all the internet, navigation, etc. Also, my phone came with a charger that has a cable that disconnects from it and acts as a USB cable. However, this phone was just released yesterday for US Cellular so maybe they added some things.
Jonathon,
I just got the lg bliss from us cellular too. I was wondering do they charge for the use of their gps application also under my navigation?
I was just reading the above reviews and haven’t had much time to play around with it yet.
Any information would be great!
Thanks!
jonothon,
I have been looking at the LG Bliss or Triton from US Cellular also and was leaning toward the Bliss, but now I’m wondering if the Triton with it’s slide out keyboard may be a better choice for the Opera Mini browser! I to would be VERY interested in any info on extra charges for app usage!
Thanks!
i got my lg bliss from us cellular the 2cond day it came availible. this phone sucks in most fronts. nav app. that is built in you hae to pay for. the browser sucks and is outdated the day it came on the market. the java has to be updated which you cant do on this phone so alot of the net that you pay 19.95 per month to browse is unviewable. with us cellular the web browser fee of 19.95 is mandatory with this phone. scrolling on the touch screen is a pain in the ass. you can upload videos to the phone from your computer but you cant watch them or even know they are there according to the phone but they are there when you look at the video folder when it hooked up to the computer and hit the explore option on the computer. basic phone functions are good but everything else sucks. avoid this phone through us cellular if you can.
I bought the LG bliss very recently after it came out.
I have been very satisfied with the phone.
The touch screen is very good and durable and the camera is also quite good, considering its a cell phone. Also, its really good for texting.
I love it so far!
i am planning on getting an LG Bliss i would mainly just use it for texting. Is it worth getting?
The bliss blows. I got it from US cellular a few days ago and been trying to get info since. Apparently every salesman on the floor hadnt been trained on the bliss as of september 21. I have been trying to download simple things like a flash player and i figured adobe flash lite would work but no. Im a mechanic and aguy came into my shop today and happened to have a US cellular shirt on and happened to be a regional manager so i picked his brain. He told me the operating system for bliss isnt suppotive of any browser thus no real downloads other than kid shit from easyedge like wallpapers and ringtones. I was interested in the phone cuz the salesman said it was a smartphone. Nope. But yes it is excellent if not the best for texting if your smooth with the provided stylus(which was stolen from my new phone box prior to my purchase and denied that i was even supposed to have one) I got mine at Bastien wireless in Pekin Illinois. Their customer service was crap. US cellular allows 30 days for return but Bastien claims mine is in used condition now after only 5 days. SHOULDA GOTTA BLACKBERRY!!
Well. I actually love my new Bliss. I am able to check and write GMail no problem by using the web version on my phone that they refer to. However, the web version does not work for the Google Maps application. I can’t find a way around it yet. But I’m sure a crack will come soon.
Texting is great. I find the touch pad extremely responsive. I don’t care that it doesn’t auto correct, since it is often wrong anyway!
Still messing around with it, to discover it’s limitations. I’m a bit of a techie, but I am not tied to my phone 24/7, so it’s definately got more than I need.
Camera is great too. The night mode reduces the need for a flash except in very dark circumstances.
Those are my thoughts for now….
I have had my Bliss for about 2 months now from US cellaur and i like it except for resetting the calibration alot. sometimes it freezes up. Other then that i love it
It is very functional and you can do alot on it, for the most part,
To the ones who cant get everything normally on the net for this phone its prob bc u are trying www and not m…… if you do that u have no need to up load the flash drive and nonsense. I had that same problem and i asked my tech guy and he told me that was the issue.
hope i have helped!
