Lenovo Exploding Thinkpad Laptops

|

lenovo_exploding_laptop.jpg
Over 100,000 Lenovo Thinkpad Laptops have been recalled over possible issue with the Sanyo lithium laptop batteries. This isn't the first experience with battery issues for Lenovo, over 500,000 sony provided batteries were recalled last september. The sanyo batteries might overheat and could possibly become a fire hazard if dropped. There was one reported case for the exploding batteries, in which a user suffered minor eye irritation. I guess Lenovo has just had some bad luck or the Sanyo batteries aren't much better?
