Leica can certainly make cameras. It has launched two new cameras, both 10.1 meagapixel. They are the D-Lux 4 and the C-Lux 3. The D-Lux 4 has a 1/1.63 CCD image sensor and a high-spee Leica DC Vario-Summicron 5.1-12.8mm f/2.0-2.8 ASPH with 35mm equivalent focal length of 24 to 70mm. Wow, that was a long phrase! What you need to know is that it will take great pictures for you, no matter how good a photographer you are. The D-Lux 4 has a bigger TFT LCD monitor than the C-Lux 3. It’s a 3 inch monitor with 460,000 pixels and ISO sensitivity range from 80-3200. It has three photo formats available: 4:3, 3:2 and 16:9.

The C-Lux 3 on the other hand has a smaller 1/2.33 CCD sensor and a one-stop slower Leica DC Vario-Elmarit 4.4-22mm f/2.8-5.9 ASPH with 35mm equivalent focal length of 25 to 125mm. The LCD is smaller. At 2.5 inch it will offer you 230,000 pixels and ISO sensitivity of 100 to 1600.

Both have 50MB internal storage space, it has SD/SDHC support and video recording mode in 640×480, 848×480 and 1280×720 format. We’re waiting for a price to be announced later in October when the Leicas will be available.
