LaCie eSATA Rugged Hard-DriveBy Tony - 02/15/2010 4:21:19 AM |
LaCie is a popular manufacturer of storage devices and their latest unit is the eSATA Rugged hard-drive. Obviously it is an external drive and it seems to be the first drive on the market that has a Power eSATA port.
Ayway, if you are using an eSATA cable to connect the drive to your computer, the writing/reading speeds should be approximately of 90MB/s. On the other hand, if your computer doesn’t have an eSATA port you can use the included Y-cable that lets you connect the device to a USB port, but in this case the speeds will be much slower.
The LaCie eSATA Rugged External Hard-Drive of 500GB is already available and costs $160.
We are thrilled to integrate power eSATA technology into our best-selling Rugged mobile hard drive. This solution brings dazzling transfer speeds to customers on the go, while still ensuring compatibility with standard eSATA and USB 2.0 connectors.
