Japan has its own contender against the MacBook Air. Presenting Kouziro's Frontier line of ultra-thin lightweight machines. The one you see on the pic is its flagship entry model. The sub-notebook weighs a mere 1.24kg, runs on an 800MHz Intel A110 processor, and features 12.1-inch LED-backlit screen, Windows XP Home OS, 80GB hard drive, smartcard slot, fingerprint reader, waterproof keyboard, and 1GB of RAM. It also has multiple ports for a multi-card reader, LAN, USB, PC Card slot, and D-sub monitor connection. The first model in the Kouziro Frontier notebook series costs $1,250, which a few hundred bucks cheaper than the MacBook Air.
