Even the most dedicated bookworms would feel a bit dorky toting a Kindle around and considering the number of Kindles that you see in real life, this seems to be a very good ploy to rekindle Amazon’s ebook sales.  And now that the iPhone has it, it would not be too much to wish for an application on other platforms like the Symbian S60 and Android too.  Anyways, the Kindle for iPhone can provide access to all of the user’s Kindle content from an iPhone or an iPod Touch, downloaded via PC/Mac or directly from the Safari browser on the iPhone.  For those who already own a Kindle, Whispersync should keep a tab on what point they are at, and sync it with both the Kindle and the iPhone app.

The application is available for free on the App Store, but keep in mind that you will still have to shell out up to $9.99 before sitting down to read your favorite book on your iPhone screen.
