Kindle 2.3 Software Available Now

In case you own a Kindle then you’ll be interested to know that there’s a new software update available. Version 2.3 will bring native PDF support to Kindle 2 and DX owners, 85% increase in battery life to Kindle 2 devices and it should be available as a simple OTA download. In case you haven’t gotten it already then you can always download it and install it via USB tethering.

Although this is good news, the Kindle isn’t the hottest eBook reader in the neighborhood anymore. The nook has sold like hot cakes and it looks like Barnes & Noble will be a tough Amazon competitor. In other words, if you haven’t purchased a Kindle yet, you might want to checkout other options before actually deciding on getting one.
