iTunes to sell its billionth songBy Jeff Baker - 02/24/2010 12:51:07 AM |

Back in the day when iTunes and the iPod were first introduced the community at large laughed at the idea and thought it would never take off. Flash forward to today and the iPod is a household name and iTunes has become a ridiculous success.
iTunes is such a success that Apple has begun the countdown to the billionth song sold. As you can see from the above counter, Apple is extremely close to this milestone and at the rate they are going they will probably pass it within a few days.
A huge milestone for music but also a huge milestone for Apple’s wallet.
Check out the counter here.
