With just days to go before WWDC and the presumed announcement of the 3G iPhone, one more picture has surfaced showing what are purportedly the touchscreens used in the next iteration of the iPhone and/or iPod Touch. Assuming that the above pictures are the real deal, we might be seeing a reduction in size of the iPhone’s big screen from 3.5 to 3.2 inches. The smaller 2.8-inch screen also suggests that there might be a mini-version of the iPhone in the works, but that could easily pass as a touchscreen for the next-gen iPod Touch as well.

While the shrinking the size of the touchscreen could save loads on battery life that can be put to better use on 3G and, hopefully, GPS, it also means less screen real estate, making it a tad bit difficult to use the on-screen keyboard. This might be a small sacrifice if it makes way for better upgrades like 3G, GPS, and a better camera, but isn’t the whole iPhone mania centered on its big, shiny multi-touchscreen? In any case, we only have three more days to push through before we find out!
