iPods to be Powered by Your Own Blood?By Chris - 03/29/2009 2:30:07 PM |

Have you turned off the light the other day? Will we have enough energy in the future to afford turning off lights whenever we want to? What if we could power devices around us with simple energy source like the flowing of the blood or the beating of our own hearts? Wouldn’t that be eco-friendly?
According to researchers working on piezoelectric nanowires your own blood could be use to power up small devices like iPods. They have discovered how to use zinc oxide nanowires to generate electricity when subjected to mechanical stress. The nano things would be implanted right under your skin and then the rest should be fairly easy. The technology doesn’t have a date yet so in the mean time keep those regular chargers around.
