Business Class on a redesigned Airbus A340-500 from New York to Singapore starting yesterday and from Los Angeles to Singapore in the future will have iPod and iPhone support for passengers.
What’s the catch? Well you need to buy an iPod and an iPhone first, pack it with you when flying to and from Singapore and then get a Business Class ticket. Lots of money right? Well yes but if you are a frequent flyer and you have to be in Singapore for a certain period of time, you might try one of those tickets. Maybe your company will cover the costs!
Each seat will pack a 15.4 inch widescreen LCD and a pair of noise cancelling headphones. What more do you need? The fully charged iPod and/or iPhone of course. Off you go to your music and videos for an experience nobody else but Singapore Airlines offers.
Is Apple changing the world? I’d say so. Or better yet, are other companies going to use Apple’s creations to meet their needs and grow their sales? Most likely again. Kudos to Singapore Airlines for this neat trick. I imagine there are more than a few to appreciate it.
