Watching TV on the iPhone is quite a big deal in Japan so Softbank announced on Thursday that it plans to sell a TV-Tuner add-on for later this year. Besides getting you all that TV action it will work as an extended battery pack.

The TV-Tuner will cost about $100 and it will go on sale sometime in December. The tuner will have an internal WiFi module and an external antenna for connecting to the 1seg mobile terrestrial broadcasting service. The software will be available for free from the App Store when the time comes.
