While Steve Jobs announced that the iPhone will be more affordable worldwide, we haven’t seen any official prices and plans from worldwide carriers for the 3G iPhone. With AT&T offering the 8GB iPhone for $199 with a two year plan, we would expect similar special prices all over the world.
Vodafone, the carrier which will bring the iPhone to Italy, have come up with pay-as-you-go offers for those interested in an iPhone without a plan. The 8GB will retail for 499€, approximately $770, while the 16GB will retail for just 569€, which is a little over $870. How does that sound?
Did you think these were great prices? How about $0 for the 3G iPhone? In the UK and in Spain, carriers O2 and Telefonica have announced special plans for iPhone customers. But the plans are made accordingly. You will pay $88/month for 1 year and a half of services. I know what you are thinking, which one is better, the AT&T plan or the O2?
With AT&T you pay $2,121 for 24 months. Each month you will have 450 voice minutes, 200 SMS messages and unlimited data included. With O2 you will have to pay $1,591 for 18 months and you will have 1200 voice minutes, 500 SMS messages and unlimited data included. I guess it’s pretty clear which one is the best offer right?
