Bare with me iPhone lovers and haters, we have more 3G iPhone news regarding upcoming plans. We will take a look at Switzerland and Finland. Let’s see how other Europeans are going to do the whole iPhone selling thing.
Swisscom is selling the iPhone in Switzerland while Sonera will be the carrier to commercialize Apple’s handset in Finland.
Swisscom, like AT&T in the US and 3 in Hong Kong, has various iPhone plans. The cheapest one is just $25 per month. You get the 8GB iPhone for $245 and the 16GB version for $343. The plan has just 100 MB of data and will charge about $0.68 per hour of talk time.
The next plan is at $34 per month. The 8GB iPhone sells for $196 and the 16GB version at $293. You get 200MB and you pay $0.49 for every hour of talk time. At $54 per month you will get an 8GB iPhone for $97 and the 16GB for just $196. You also get 1000MB of data but a charge of $0.49 per minute of talk time.
Any of the plans above are 24 month contracts and include visual voicemail and free hotspot access for over 1,100 Swiss locations. The Swiss are going to offer the pre paid option too. They will charge $0.79 per hour of talk time and $0.98 per 1MB of data. The price for the iPhone in this case is $510 for the 8GB and $609 for the 16GB.

Let’s see what Finland’s Sonera will have in store! They have too various offers to choose from. The $50 per month plan will get you a $250 8GB iPhone and a $385 16GB model. You get 100 minutes, 100 SMS messages and 100 MB of data.
The $81 per month plan will get you an $125 8GB phone and a $260 16GB version. You also get 250 minutes, 250 SMS messages and 250 MB of data. The top plan at $142 per month will get you a $1.58 8GB phone or an $134 16GB version. You get 1000 minutes, 1000 SMS messages and 1000MB of data.
In case you are wondering these are too 24 months plans. Sonera has the “I Sonera” pay as you go option that will get you an 8GB 3G iPhone for $675 and a 16GB for $817. A minute of talk time of an SMS will cost $0.12 while 1MB of data comes at $2.35.
What do you think of those plans? What strikes me is the poor data offer for lower priced plans. I’m not familiar with Swiss of Finish carriers and their usual plans but some of these offers sound good enough to me.
