So how’s your iPhone working folks? Is AT&T still as crappy in your area as in the New York area? We don’t mean to be disrespectful but it looks like the average iPhone dropped calls is somewhere around 30% in New York. And that appears to be a genuine number provided by one of Apple’s own Geniuses. And said percentage seems to be fairly normal in Apple’s eyes. In fact it looks like people seem to think there’s something wrong with their iPhone when in fact the problem lies with AT&T. Go have your phone checked by the nice folks at the Genius Bar and you’ll find out exactly how many dropped calls you’ve had. Hopefully not more than 30% which is about 1 in 3 calls. What say you AT&T? Ready for to further upgrade the network?

This doesn’t even make sense. I work in NY and went from an iPhone 3g to an unlocked Nokia E71. Night and day difference on dropped calls. Anyone that thinks this is related to the network they work on need to get their head out of their ass. I have had 0 dropped calls with the E71 over 5 months. I had them all over with the iPhone. I’m no ATT fanboy, but the only problems I have had are with the device, not the service.
I really wish I had NOT bought my iPhone. I had heard about all the dropped calls, but I was already on AT&T, so I expected the same performance on the iPhone as my old phone. Boy was I wrong! The iPhone looks great and the operating system is super slick. The problem is, as a phone, it sucks. I had more dropped calls in the first month than in years of using regular cell phones. I travel on business, and it was so bad is so many areas that I bought a pre-paid cell phone to make calls. So now I carry around 2 cell phones because I can’t rely on the iPhone to work when I need it to. What a piece of junk! If you prefer fashion over function, the iPhone is for you. If you want to actually make phone calls and do real work, get a BlackBerry.
