iPhone 3G Firmware Fix Coming in September

The iPhone 3G is far from the perfect handset we were expecting prior to June 9th. One of the most discussed problems is the reception issue. Apple can’t have a problem like that disturb their handset can they. Apparently they have been working on a solution and a firmware fix is supposed to be released sometime this September. No official announcement has been made yet and these are just rumors for now.

A problem exists and it’s not clear whose fault it is. Either Apple or Infineon if it’s a hardware problem, either AT&T if it’s a carrier problem. No matter who is to blame I am sure we all agree 3G unavailability in a 3G device is intolerable.

The upcoming software is going to correct whatever problem and reception issues will hopefully solved. And if it shouldn’t work, then don’t worry about it, there’s always next year for a new iPhone. Get your money back and switch to a better 3G smartphone.
