iPad could be the future of home automation, tooBy Mark Rollins - 04/09/2010 11:25:28 PM |
I believe that I talked a few days ago about how the iPod could be a universal remote killer. I was talking about something that could just control the home theater, but this video shows how the iPad could control the whole house. Actually, it takes two iPads and one iPhone, and it includes the security system, HVAC, cameras, three media serves, a Russsound audio system, even the pool.
According to the creator:
My plan is to sell many more automation systems. The stumbling block for clients in the past hasn’t been the control system, it’s always been the cost of the user interface. With the iPad, this problem has been completely removed. This is a tremendous victory for the future of my business. I don’t have to sell expensive products that don’t multitask. And I get to charge each time I program an iPad or add one to the system
