Slowly but surely we’re going to connect through everything to the Internet. Laptops and desktops, mobile devices and smartphones, GPS device, they are all able to go online at any time. I’ll be waiting for my toaster to get WiFi support but in the mean time Toshiba might have a DVD player that would also surf the Internet. Kind of a laptop you mean?

Apparently this DVD logo released by the DVD Forum started this rumor. Toshiba decided earlier not to go Blu-ray but instead to develop more and more affordable DVD players which will feature enhanced image scaling capabilities. Besides working on image quality Toshiba will introduce some sort of Internet connectivity to all their new DVD which will be branded with DVD Download/DL logo

It’s yet unknown how these new DVD Download/DL are supposed to be working with the Internet. There’s no news on future models so I guess we just have to sit and wait for more details.
