22 Nov 08 International Children’s Digital Library iPhone Applications Brings You New Stories for Your Kids

The world’s largest collection of kids literature has been available for free on the internet for quite some time now, and it was turned into an iPhone application. It’s going to be available for free at the Apple’s App Store. The great thing about it is, that you can choose between thousands of stories from 60 countries, which you can read either in English or their actual native languages.

The App includes:

  • offline reading
  • online reading – linkage to the Full content of the ICDL of about 3000 stories.
  • simple navigation – reading and engaging animations easily
  • one or two page view – which gets you the most out of the iPhone’s ”auto-rotation” feature

Tim Browne, Executive Director of the International Children’s Digital Library Foundation said:

“Our ICDL for iPhone application is incredibly exciting for us because it provides such broad access to our wonderful parent-friendly content. Thanks to Zumobi and its wildly attractive platform, we see this as a perfect way to deliver children’s educational and cultural content to the ever growing world of Apple iPhone users. Honestly, we hope it brings in a whole new group of ICDL supporters, who cannot resist becoming first time donors!
