VoIP calling is more and more popular and Intel knows it. Their future PCs will pack motherboards that have a Remote Wake function. That function will let you take phone calls even when your PC is sleeping like a baby.

With current models VoIP calling works only when your PC is turned on. Using a wired Ethernet connection , the new motherboards will let you answer your VoIP phone at all times, and especially when it’s turned off. You can even create an accepted call list. Anyone who’s not on the list will not be able to disturb you.

The Remote Wake motherboards will arrive starting this September and Intel is working with other manufacturers to include this feature in their motherboards. Is this the new landline dilling?
