Intel Has New Expensive SSD Ready

Don’t surprised that Intel know how to make other PC components besides their usual chips and motherboards. They have new SSD ready to ship and they are going to be pretty expensive.

The new 1.8 inch X18-M and the new 2.5-inch X25-M are the two solid state drives I am talking about. They will come in 80GB and 160GB in capacity.

Intel says the drives will sport read speeds up to 250MB per second and write speeds of up to 70MB per second with 85ms latency. The two 80GB SSD drives are available to system builders for $595 for up to 1,000 units. The 160GB version will arrive later this quarter for a bigger price.
