Intel creates world's thinnest notebook
As thin as Motorola's Razr, Intel has joined forces with Ziba Design of Portland Oregon to bring forth the code-named Intel mobile Metro notebook. Less than 0.7 inches thick?nd weighing in at 2.25 pounds, makes this laptop: the thinnest yet on the market.
The built in flash replaces the hard-disk drive, resulting in less power consumption and lower weight with up to 14 hours of battery life.
The Metro has a built-in wireless compatibility with WiMax, a speedier cousin of Wi-Fi that's just starting to reach the market and a leather-like folder that wraps around with magnets and serves as a wireless charger and an external screen that lets users check e-mail without opening the computer. The screen contains automatic brightness adjusting light sensors and also features a built-in video camera.
Intel hasn't announced an official release date but hype hints at plans to manufacture later this year.
