Apple has been known to lock-out third party manufacturers from utilizing some of their device’s features and their Apple shuffle’s VoiceOver feature is no different. However, it look like one such manufacturer by the name of iLuv has licensed the technology thus gaining the ability to include it in their iEA15 adapter.

What this is is essentially a microphone touting adapter that lets you plug-in any headset you throw at it and still be able to use the shuffle’s VoiceOver technology. This is made possible as the adapter includes a “remote control chip provided by Apple, Inc.”. And, since it does have a microphone, you’ll be able to use it with your iPhone.

iLuv’s iEA15 adapter will most likely prove to be a highly sought after device but unfortunately for us, a price has to yet to be announced.
