16 Jul 09 iKey Unveils Rugged Wearable Keyboard with Pointing Device

Only in the military can you get to see new innovations as far as innovations are concerned. And that seems to be the case as iKey has released a rugged wearable keyboard with pointing device that military personnel can simply latch on to their arm.

Apparently this was done for extreme emergencies to which the military is always experiencing. The AK-39 has all the features you can see from a usual setup although we have seen this kind of a device in movies such as “Predator” and other known sci-fi movies. This device also comes with adjustable green LED backlighting and is night vision compatible.

Hence, while those were all getups and paraphernalia, this is the real thing. The AK-39 wearable keyboard also comes with a USB cable that is available in both left- and right-arm configurations. Its lightweight plastic case easily adheres onto a Velcro arm strap that is sized to fit over bulky combat clothing, and has a curved back for arm comfort. The strap is available in two styles: one that affixes directly over the forearm, and one that includes a thumb loop for added stability.
