JAM_WM5.jpgI-Mate offers consumers a slim, lightweight smartphone with its recently announced JAMA Windows Mobile 5.0 PDA phone. Users looking for a basic Windows Mobile phone to keep in touch and stay organized would probably want to look into the new i-Mate JAMA handset. The phone gets a large 2.4″ QVGA touchscreen display. With the phone lacking QWERTY keypad, the touchscreen display will be used for input.

Looking at the specs, the handset is a dual-band (900/1800MHz) GSM/GPRS with Bluetooth v1.2 connectivity running a 300Mhz Samsung processor. The phones memory receives 128MB ROM, 64MB ROM, and removable microSD memory. Also provided is a 2.0MP camera for some decent image captures. Along with the phone is the usual i-mate applications like the i-mate Profile Controller and i-mate Media Control Panel. Also included is a complete set of Windows Mobile 5.0 applications.

Expect the new i-Mate JAMA WM5 handset to be available in June 2007.
