The HTC Tattoo has not been forgotten and it looks like HTC will be updating current OS versions to Android 2.1 soon. Though the update is still in the works, the best part here is that the new Android 2.1 for the HTC Tattoo is a work in progress.

Of course you may have to wait a bit for now. But for sure, an updated Android OS should deliver something beneficial for people who have been long waiting for an upgraded OS for their HTC handset.
