HTC Pure Cell Phone Review–Loads Of Great ToolsBy Steve Anderson - 01/15/2010 3:35:06 AM |
The crew out at Puremobile sent another great phone out our way to review, and this time, we’re going to be tangling with the HTC Pure.
The HTC Pure comes with a five megapixel camera–yeah, FIVE–a battery capable of five hours and thirty six minutes of talk time, Wifi connectivity, a memory card slot, a built-in stylus holder, XM Radio, Windows Media player, mobile web, mobile video, a panoply of game demos (I for one love the fact that there’s sudoku on this phone.), calculator, GPD, voice recorder, Adobe reader, and plenty, plenty more.
First off, I’ve never used a phone where I had to ASSEMBLE the AC adapter. Seriously, I felt like a sniper, snapping this thing together piece by piece before I could charge the battery up to try it. I’m not happy about the fact that there’s no headphone jack here, but rather a mini USB plug instead. That left me unable to try the FM radio, and I love trying the FM radio, because it’s a great quality measure. If you can get longer range channels, it’s a better unit, plain and simple. Also, I LOVE that built-in stylus holder. It goes where your phone does, easily and unobtrusively.
But frankly, the HTC Pure offers so much great stuff that it’s hard to be annoyed with it at all. It’s a great phone that offers probably more stuff than anyone could use in a lifetime, offers incredible customizability and has a host of tools for nearly any situation.
The Good
Loads of tools
Fairly simple to operate
Built in stylus holder
The Bad
No independent headphone jack
Some assembly required
Score 8 / 10
