Early 2009 didn’t work for the Ophone release and seems like May 17th didn’t cut it either.  The news now points to a release next month, which we will settle on for now until they decide on an another day or just launch it already.  What’s more, HTC has now combined forces with Lenovo to release the Chinese version of the Android-powered HTC Magic on China Mobile’s network, and this will be called the Ophone instead of the Lenovo handset we saw earlier.  When and if launched in June, the Ophone will go for a hefty 5000 yuan (about $730), which sounds a lot more expensive than the actual HTC Magic.  Anyways, with the iPhone also in line to enter the Chinese market during the same timeframe, June is turning out to be a fine month for the Chinese.
