HTC EVO 4G Android 2.2 Download Gets Leaked, Is Pulled Shortly AfterBy Jeff Baker - 07/31/2010 2:54:23 PM |

Despite being released quite some time ago, the HTC EVO 4G is still one of the most technologically advanced phones on the market. With its 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 4.3-inch touchscreen display, 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera it can easily keep up with even the highest end Android powered devices on the market today like the Motorola Droid X and Samsung Galaxy S.
However, one thing that is crippling the HTC EVO 4G is the fact that it features Android 2.1 and not 2.2. This means that some of the speed improvements to both the operating system and browser are not found within the the EVO 4G which should be considering it’s regarded as one of the premiere Android devices.
Luckily, HTC has been kind enough to let us know that the EVO 4G Android 2.2 roll outs will begin sometime early next month (which means you won’t have to wait long considering next month begins tomorrow). However, it seems that HTC got a bit trigger happy and released the Android 2.2 update on their website which was quickly found by the online community.
If you managed to get your hands on the download you’ll know that it’s as simple as booting the .zip file on an installed SD slot but if you didn’t get your hands on it, it looks like you’ll be waiting until next month.
