HSBC not ditching Blackberry for iPhone anytime soon

Well, it’s fizzed out to be just a rumor after all! Apparently, HSBC is not going to dropkick their trusty RIM devices, not yet anyway. The bank has issued an official statement saying that it has no intention whatsoever to divorce it’s longtime business companion for Apple’s shiny new toy. It all started when HSBC Australia and New Zealand CIO, Brenton Hush let slip that “HSBC was considering the switch.” If it were to happen, this would have been Apple’s biggest haul yet in the corporate realm.

Here’s what the HSBC UK spokesperson was caught saying:

I don’t know if he was misquoted or if it was made up, but I can put the rumors to bed now and state there is no truth in it at all. It’s simply not going to happen.

No coup de grâce here, Apple. Still, you get 20 more countries to conquer all the same.
