HP to Make 10.1- and 11.6-Inch New NetbooksBy Chris - 07/29/2009 7:14:25 PM |
Don’t get all too excited since this isn’t official news. You can get mildly excited though since we expect HP to launch new netbooks in the near future. So why wouldn’t this new netbooks be 10.1- and 11.6-inch ultra-slim machines?
The word on the street is that HP has hired Quanta to make the 11.6-inch netbook this August while the 10.1-inch netbook is due before the end of the year. Inventec is also going to make netbooks for HP but these are revisions of HP’s 10.1-inch netbook. No details have been leaked so far about any of these new HP netbooks, but we’re counting on HP to bring something new to the table. Can we expect Windows 7 HP netbooks soon?
Quanta Computer will also make new 15.6- and 17.3-inch notebooks and shipments will start in August while Compal Electronics will work on 13.3- and 14-inch versions.
