I haven’t checked out any of the new HP laptops did I? And HP did release about 16 new models about two weeks ago. Crazy idea to hit the market right after the WWDC, but they did it. Today we’re going to check out HP’s new Pavilion dv5z. And we’re going to start by mentioning how annoying these letters and numbers names are.

So here are the specs of the new HP Pavilion dv5z:

  • AMD Puma mobile platform,
  • AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core / Turion X2 Dual-Core Ultra / Athlon mobile processor,
  • 15.4-inch LCD display,
  • 4GB of RAM,
  • ATI Radeon HD 3200 integrated / ATI Radeon HD 3450 256MB graphics card,
  • up to 320GB of hard drive space,
  • a DVD burner with Blu-ray ROM option,
  • Wi-Fi 802.11b/g / 802.11a/b/g/n,
  • Bluetooth module,
  • built-in 56k modem, Ethernet,
  • HDMI, VGA output, four USB ports,
  • ExpressCard slot and integrated Altec Lansing stereo speakers,
  • an optional built-in web camera and fingerprint reader,
  • unfortunately pre installed Windows Vista.

That’s about it. Pricing starts from $699.99 depending on what you get. From what I can see here I could easily order one of these new Pavilion dv5z. If only I could remember the name..
