You’re probably wondering how much will Microsoft dare to charge for their latest PC OS and after Vista’s success you should do that. Will Windows 7 prove to be another bad investment? From what we’ve seen in the beta so far, the new Windows looks better and it’s definitely more stable.
And here’s what Microsoft is going to charge for it:
Will we see any special prices? What about upgrade costs? Shouldn’t current Vista owners get a bargain price when upgrading to Windows 7?

I bought a laptop with Vista installed and I like it. A couple of programs wouldn’t work, ( they do now ), but I have no intention of upgrading to Windows 7. Besides, it is too expensive. I don’t see any benefit for the home user to get it. A business? maybe.
i purchased a laptop with win vista. i hate vista and i think ms should offer win7 for free…. i know its not reasonable but i paid good money for something that barely runs most of the time. the updates ms sends me are never compatible and i’m forced to fix my machine almost weekly. im almost tempted to bombn my harddrive and put my copy of xp on it but its a new machine designated to run the latest os, so anything less wouldnt even compare…stuck between a rock and a hard spot with ms..
How much would Home Basic cost? I’m in the Philippines so I would be eligible to buy it. I currently have an Acer Aspire One AO751 that has Vista Home Basic, but it’s pretty sluggish on the Z520 processor. I was hoping that Win7 would run better on my netbook.
I am seriously considering upgrading my two PC (Vista) with Windows 7 and my 2 Mac with Snow Leopard. But at those prices I won’t. This is the rational. I see both W7 & SL as major updates not upgrades. But SL will only cost $29. While if true the W7 Home Premium will be a whopping $259 their is no way I pay that for an update.
k thats f***ed up!!
vista ultimate and windows 7 ultimate runs so fast with my toshiba laptop

I am led to believe from a reliable source, that purchasers of a license to use Windows Vista Business, will be eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 7 Business, and a downgrade to XP Professiona.
Users that buy a new Toshiba laptop with the Vista OS are now offered a FREE upgrade to Windows 7 upon release in October. I just sent in my information, and got confirmation that I will be receiving my Win 7 right after release. Two words: Pretty cool.
