Sunfire announced the new Cinema Ribbon and Cinema Ribbon Center Channel, speakers that snugly fit into small enclosures. Although not as thin as a ribbon, they are a significant release from Sunfire who are more popular for their subwoofers.

The speakers come in ebonized rosewood lacquer finish and gloss surface - a Sunfire standard - giving them an elegant and rich look.

The center channel speakers are smaller in height and depth compared to the side-firing subwoofers (4"), but it measures a good 18" wide. They are also comprised of dual 4" forward-firing woofers in the center channel. The two side-firing woofers use Sunfire's trademark True Subwoofers technology as well. Capable of handling 600 watts of power, the claimed frequency response goes from 22kHz (huh?) to 90Hz.

Slated for a December 2005 release, each Cinema Ribbon is priced at US $600, and more info is available from Sunfire's website.
