Sony VRD-MC1 DVDirect DVD Recorder

Sony VRD-MC1 DVDirect DVD recorderSony added another model to its line of DVDirect DVD recorder, the VRD-MC1. The USP of the VRD-MC1 recorder is that you can easily transfer your home videos from a camcorder or VCR tape to a DVD drive without access to a computer. The thing even allows you to record digital images from memory cards and store them as a slideshow that can be played back on most of today's DVD players.

The VRD-MC1 also features a PictBridge interface for direct printing. It has a DV input to which you can connect most digital camcorders, so transfering home videos becomes a breeze. Stuck with a closet full of tapes? No problem, it also has S-Video and Composite Video inputs.

Couple that with media readers for a slew of formats, including Memory Stick/Duo, CF, SD and xD cards, and you have an all-in-one archival solution with the VRD-MC1. Want to preview images? Take a look at the 2" color LCD screen on the top of the device.

Link it up with a computer for added power: take advantage of bundled Nero software for DVD burning, USB 2.0 speeds, media management software, etc.

Priced at US $299, the Sony VRD-MC1 will be available next month. You can also pre-order yours at SonyStyle.
