Softier Wave-300 IP Set-Top-Box

Softier Wave-300 IP Set-top-boxLive from the 2006 CES (well, almost), Softier has unveiled the Wave-300 IP set-top-box, aimed at telecom operators wanting to offer IPTV and other advanced IP services to their customers.

With a DSP-based design and single-chip implementation, the Wave-300 is a highly flexible media delivery platform, supporting H.264, MPEG-4 and Windows Media Video 9. IP services like VoD, live TV and gaming are just some of the many examples you can think of.

The set-top-box also features remote boot capabilities, which is useful for adding software components and apps at a later stage. It can also be upgraded remotely.

Benefits of the Softier Wave-300:

  • A single DSP chip design translates into cost effectiveness
  • Integrated DSP chip and Linux OS offers stability and optimal performance
  • Reduced power consumption and PCB size means a smaller footprint, no fans
