RCA RS2100 Bookshelf Audio System
As the popularity for satellite radio continues unabated, there is a corresponding increase in demand for receivers that can capture and play these broadcasts. Thomson, a maker of audio and video products, announced at this year's CES its tie-up with SIRIUS Satellite Radio. Accordingly, Thomson also announced a range of products (for the home and for your car) under this partnership. The RCA RS2100 being one of them.
The RS2100 features:
- A 5-CD changer and 160-watts of output
- A FM tuner
- SiriusConnect™ Home capability
- "Rip & Go" functionality to transfer CD audio at 2X "ripping" speed to a 256MB RCA flash mp3 player (also included with the system) via a USB port. You can also record both Satellite Radio and FM broadcasts onto the MP3 player
- Wireless streaming of audio content from your PC through a USB accessory transmitter that also comes with the system
The RS2100 will be available this summer with a suggested retail price of $299.99 (but see the note below).
Note:
To receive SIRIUS programming on the RCA RS2100, consumers need to purchase a SIRIUS Satellite Radio antenna/receiver (suggested retail price $49.99) that easily connects to the specialized audio products along with a SIRIUS subscription.
