Escient FireBall DVDM-552 Media Management System : Home Theater

Escient FireBall DVDM-552 Media Management System Escient introduced its new Media Management System, the FireBall DVDM-552 and its companion, the FireBall MP-200 Digital Media Player. The DVDM-552 has superior capabilities, including 2,000-DVD library management for multi-room home entertainment.

The convenient on-screen interface allows you to browse and play your vast DVD collection in the five mega-disc changers, apart from 8,000 CDs that can be stored on its huge 500 gig hard drive. The two systems can allow you to access the collection from any room in the house.

The DVDM-552 uses MovieDB and CDDB interfaces to automatically identify any DVD/CD using a direct link to the web. Apart from this, it also features a web server allowing you to browse, manage and play movies using any web browser.

The MP-200 also has some goodies on offer, including integrated MP3 and WMA internet radio stations. The two systems will be available in March 2006 with DVDM-552 costing US $5,999 and MP-200 costing $999. For a demo, they will be available at the CES next month, in booth #20407 (South Hall).
