Adaptec is entering the TV Tuner market with the introduction of the External Dual TV Tuner for Windows XP MCE 2005. This external USB 2.0 device allows users to record up to two different shows simultaneously while watching a third pre-recorded television show.

The device has dual TV tuners along with dual MPEG2 hardware encoders which means the host systems' processor is freed up to do other important work. More importantly, the device is certified to work with Microsoft Windows Media Center 2005 which is notoriously picky about hardware requirements.

The Dual TV Tuner also packs an integrated FM radio and an integrated remote control and IR blaster designed to work in conjunction with the MCE OS.
